Postdoc Position in Wireless 6G Systems
The Network sciEnce, Wireless, and Security (NEWS) laboratory at the Bradley Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech has one opening for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 6G wireless networks and beyond. Candidates will work on fundamental research related to future wireless systems, while drawing on tools from other fields such as machine learning and/or game theory. The position is based in the Washington DC Campus of Virginia Tech.
Interested candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Holding or expected to obtain a Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related disciplines.
- A solid research record evidenced by high quality publications in high-impact IEEE/ACM journals such as IEEE Transactions and/or top tier IEEE/ACM conferences.
- Strong theoretical background in mathematics and analytical thinking, demonstrated by a track record of fundamental research.
- Ability to pursue independent research and a demonstrated aptitude for fundamental research.
- Research experience in wireless communications and networking and interest in applying new tools (e.g., AI, control, etc.) within the context of such systems.

- Knowledge of machine learning, optimization theory, or game theory is a major plus.
- Excellent written and communication skills in English.
Terms of appointment:
- The start date is flexible and can be negotiated with the candidate.
- The initial term of the appointment is for 1 year.
